If your exchange API keys expire or an error message (e.g., Invalid API Keys) appears, updating your saved API keys is the best solution. Here's how to handle API issues effectively:
If the exchange supports the Fast Connect feature (e.g., Binance, OKX, Bybit), you can use this option to update the API connection effortlessly.
Important
Always update your existing API connection instead of creating a new one for the same exchange account. Deleting the old connection on 3Commas will result in losing:
DCA bots
SmartTrades
Trading history
Statistics
This action could also disrupt any active trades.
Impact on Bots and Trades
DCA Bots: If your bot trades show the status Error ("Invalid API keys") and you update the existing API connection, your bots' trades will likely remain active without interruption.
Failed Trades: If trades are marked as FAILED, you will need to recreate them using the SmartTrade feature.
SmartTrades: Expired API keys will cause SmartTrades to fail. You must recreate these trades using information from the SmartTrade History page.
Errors Requiring an API Update
You need to update your linked exchange account's API keys if you encounter the following issues:
Exchange account is banned
API key is invalid
API keys are no longer valid or incorrect
Errors such as [2000003919]
For Binance Error [2000003919]:
This error comes from Binance. Contact Binance Support to identify the reason for this limitation.
To troubleshoot:
Edit your API keys.
Disable the Futures trading permission.
Refresh the exchange connection on the My Portfolio page.
How to Update the API Connection
Follow these steps to update your linked exchange account with a new API:
Step 1: Create a New API Key
Log in to your exchange account and create new API keys.

Step 2: Edit the Linked Exchange Account on 3Commas
Go to My Portfolio and find the account you want to update.
Click the Update API Key button:

Step 3: Copy and Paste the New API Key
Update the following details:
API Key
API Secret
Passphrase (if required by your exchange)
Step 4: Save the Changes
Press the Save button to complete the update.
Step 5: Refresh the Connection
Click the Refresh button to ensure the updated API connection is active and working.
