1️⃣ Check for Technical Issues Before Resetting

Before initiating a reset, ensure that your 2FA code entry isn’t being blocked by browser settings or time sync issues:

🔹 Browser & Plugin Issues

  • Third-party plugins (e.g., "Privacy Badger" or "I Don't Care About Cookies") may block 3Commas' "Confirm" button.
Solution: Disable the plugin or whitelist 3Commas.io.

  • Built-in blockers (Brave, Vivaldi, etc.) can interfere with functionality.
Solution: Disable these blockers for 3Commas.io.

  • Try another browser or incognito mode to troubleshoot.

🔹 Device Time Sync Issues

  • If your 2FA app is on a mobile device, ensure your device clock is synced with your network provider.

  • Wait 10-30 seconds and retry the code if it fails the first time.

🔹 Alternative 2FA Methods

  • If you saved your 2FA backup key, install your 2FA app on another device and restore access.

  • Try using Authy instead of Google Authenticator to resolve syncing issues.

2️⃣ Initiate an Emergency 2FA Reset

If the above steps don’t work, a 5-day security waiting period is required for a reset.

📌 Important: This process will disable your 2FA and all API keys connected to your exchanges for security reasons.

🔹 If You Are Logged In:

  1. Click "Reset 2FA" to begin the process.

🔹 If You Are Locked Out:

  1. Go to 3Commas Login and sign in.

  2. On the 2FA page, click "Reset 2FA".

  3. Check your email inbox (including spam/junk folders) for a confirmation code.

Once you enter the confirmation code, the 5-day waiting period starts.

3️⃣ Cancelling the Reset If You Regain Access

  • If you retrieve your 2FA backup key, log in and click “Cancel 2FA reset” in the confirmation email.

  • If no action is taken within 5 days, you will receive an email to confirm the final disconnection of 2FA and API keys.

4️⃣ Restore Your 3Commas Account After 2FA Reset

Once your 2FA reset is complete:

Log in and go to My Portfolio to reconnect your exchange accounts using new or existing API keys.

Re-enable 2FA on the Settings page and store your backup key safely to prevent future lockouts.
