In this guide, we’ll show you how to connect your exchange account to 3Commas using the Fast Connect method and the manual API key method. These steps ensure a safe and reliable connection process.
Step 1: Access the 3Commas Trading Terminal
Log in to your 3Commas account.
Navigate to the My Portfolio tab.
Scroll down to the Supported Exchanges section to view all available exchanges.
If you don’t have an account with a supported exchange, click the Connect button to sign up on the exchange’s website.
Step 2: Connect Your Exchange Account
A. Fast Connect Method
Fast Connect is a quick and secure method available for select exchanges like OKX and Bybit.
Go to the Connect Accounts section and select your exchange.
Choose Fast Connect and click Connect.
Log in to the exchange using your credentials and approve the connection.
Note
If you encounter an error stating that an API key already exists, visit the exchange’s API settings, delete the existing key, and try again.
Once approved, your exchange will be successfully connected to 3Commas.
B. Manual API Key Connection
For exchanges without Fast Connect (e.g., Binance.US), you’ll need to manually create and link an API key.
Create an API Key on your exchange:
Navigate to the API management section and click Create.
Name your API key and enter your Google Authentication code.
Confirm the API key creation via email (if required).
Set API Permissions and Restrictions:
Enable Spot Trading or other permissions as required.
Restrict access to trusted IPs only.
Copy the IP address(es) provided by 3Commas and paste them into the exchange’s IP whitelist field.
Link the API Key to 3Commas:
Copy the API Key and Secret Key from the exchange.
Paste them into the respective fields on 3Commas and click Connect.
Step 3: Refresh and Manage Your Connection
After connecting, click the Refresh button in 3Commas to ensure the API key is active.
Use the three-dot menu next to the connection to:
Update the API key.
Delete the connection.
Enable or disable Hedge Mode.
If funds are available, click the Trade button to start trading with SmartTrade.

Scenarios Requiring Manual Steps: If Fast Connect isn’t available, the manual method is equally secure and reliable.
Error Resolution: Refresh the API list before creating a new key to avoid duplicates.
