In compliance with the MiCA Regulation 2025, 3Commas is required to introduce new restrictions for users in the European Economic Area (EEA). These changes impact access to certain features, including mobile app availability, subscription renewals, and exchange connections for EEA-based users.

What’s Changing?
For EEA Users:
The 3Commas Android app is available for EEA users through a dedicated EEA listing on Google Play. The iOS app is not available in EEA App Stores; EEA users on iOS should use the 3Commas web app in a browser.
Existing subscriptions will remain active until their expiration date.
Free plan users will not be able to connect exchanges to prevent trial activation.
All new users from the EEA must complete AML checks during account registration, which are performed as part of the KYC process.
This requirement supports compliance with the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Regulation 2025.
To verify your account, follow this guide: KYC Verification for European Economic Area (EEA) Users.
Failure to complete KYC will restrict access to trading and subscriptions.
If you're in the EEA and do not have an active plan, you must complete KYC before you can purchase a new subscription. This applies to all new purchases made through the 3Commas web interface.
Existing users will receive a notification to complete a KYC check in their 3Commas Web Interface starting during April when their subscription expires
If you already have a subscription but haven’t completed KYC, your auto-renewal will be stopped. Once your current plan ends, you’ll need to complete KYC before you can buy a new plan.
EEA users can renew subscriptions through the 3Commas web app. Android users can also manage or renew subscriptions in the Android app. The iOS app is not available for EEA users, so renewals must be done on the web.
What You Can Still Do:
Use the web version of 3Commas via your mobile or desktop browser.
Monitor and manage trades for the duration of your active subscription.
Receive updates on upcoming solutions for EEA-based users.
Monitor your 3Commas account regularly using the Web interface to see when you are invited to perform a KYC check
EEA users on the Free plan can still try out 3Commas by using DCA and Grid bot backtesting in the web version, as long as they have backtests available under their plan limits and a connected exchange.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Why is 3Commas making these changes?
These changes comply with the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, which enforces stricter policies on crypto-related services within the European Economic Area (EEA).
2. Can I still use the 3Commas mobile app if I am in the EEA?
Yes, but only on Android. EEA users can install and use the 3Commas Android app from the dedicated EEA listing on Google Play. If you installed an older version, we recommend reinstalling from the correct EEA page to receive updates and ensure compatibility. The iOS app is not available in EEA App Stores, so iOS users should use the 3Commas web app in a browser instead.
3. What happens when my subscription expires?
When your current plan (Starter, Pro, or Expert) expires, you can renew it using the 3Commas web app.
Android users can also purchase or renew these plans in the Android app.
For EEA users on iOS, renewals must be done through the web app, because the 3Commas iOS app is not available in EEA App Stores.
If you are on a legacy plan (for example Legacy Beginner, Legacy Starter, Legacy Pro), please note:
As long as your recurring payment is still active, your legacy plan will auto renew on the same legacy plan and price on the renewal date.
If recurring payments are turned off, or your legacy subscription actually ends, you cannot buy or re enable that legacy plan again. You will need to choose one of the current plans (Starter, Pro, or Expert).
4. What if I am on the Free plan?
Free plan users in the EEA cannot perform real trading, but can still try 3Commas by using DCA and Grid bot backtesting in the web app, as long as they have backtests available under their plan limits and a connected exchange.
To unlock real trading and full access, you must complete KYC and subscribe to a paid plan using the web version.
5. Can I still trade using 3Commas?
Yes! You can continue using 3Commas through the web version on your mobile or desktop browser. Your bots, SmartTrades, and other trading features will remain accessible.
6. Is 3Commas working on a solution?
Yes, 3Commas is actively working on regulatory-compliant solutions and willl announce it when available.
7. How will I be notified about future updates?
We will send email notifications, push alerts, and update this Help Center article as soon as a solution is available. Stay tuned for further announcements.
8. I’m not in the EEA! How do I update my Billing address?
If your account has been incorrectly flagged as being located in the EEA, update your billing address:
Logging in to your account.
Navigating to the Subscriptions section, Billing details tab.
Update your Residence information.
Important for EEA users
At this time, only users who are residents of EEA countries and hold identity documents from an EEA member state may proceed with KYC verification.
If you are physically located in the EEA but use non-EEA identity documents, your KYC application may be rejected.
9. Do new users from the EEA need to complete KYC?
Yes. All new users registering from the European Economic Area (EEA) must complete AML checks, which are included in the KYC verification process. This is part of our compliance with MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation) 2025.
Without KYC, account registration will be incomplete and access to trading services will be restricted.
