Why Enable 2FA?
2FA adds a second login check on top of your password. After you enable it, you’ll need a one-time code when:
logging in
changing security settings
We highly recommend setting up 2FA for all accounts!
Recommended 2FA Apps
1. Google Authenticator
No cloud backup by default
If you lose your phone and didn’t back it up, you can lose access
2. Authy
Supports backups and restoring to a new device (depends on your Authy setup)
Can be easier to recover if you switch phones
Tip:
Use a mobile authenticator app. Desktop options exist, but mobile is usually safer and simpler.
When you enable 2FA, you’ll get a backup/secret key (or QR). Save it somewhere safe (password manager, offline storage).
If you lose your phone, this backup is often the easiest way to restore access.
How to Enable 2FA on 3Commas
1. Go to Settings (click your email/profile in the top-right).
2. Find the 2FA section and enable it (toggle ON)
3. Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator or Authy) and add a new account:
Scan the QR code displayed in 3Commas, or
Manually enter the secret key into the app.
Enter the 6-digit verification code generated by the app.
Enter your 3Commas account password (only required for email+password sign-ups).
Your Account is Now Secure!
After enabling 2FA, you will need to log in again for security verification.
Switching phones or changing authenticator apps (when you still have access)
If you still have your current 2FA device/app, do this to avoid problems:
Go to Settings → 2FA
Disable 2FA
Confirm using the current 6-digit code
Enable 2FA again (same steps as above)
Scan the new QR / save the new backup key
Confirm with the new 6-digit code
Note: This is the safe method when you still have access. It should not affect your connected exchange accounts.
If you lost your 2FA device or can’t generate codes
