Moving from 3Commas v1 to 3Commas v2: Feature & Bot Migration Guide

A guide for 3Commas users explaining how familiar bots, features, and trading tools are recreated in the new platform, highlighting key differences and helping users transition smoothly to the new experience.

What Is Changing?

Here’s a quick overview of the features and bots available on the 3Commas v2 platform, compared to the old one.

Bot Creation: 3Commas v1 vs. 3Commas v2

Creating bots in New 3Commas will feel familiar, but some bot types and settings have moved.

The main change to remember is:

  • Indicator-based DCA bots (such as RSI) → Create them under DCA Bot

  • TradingView-based DCA bots → Create them under Signal Bot

  • API-triggered DCA bots → Create them under Signal Bot

  • Strategy Gallery strategies → You can now find them as DCA Bot Presets

Below, you can see where to recreate the bots and strategies you used in 3Commas v1.

DCA Bot

DCA Bot with an indicator

If you previously used an indicator such as RSI to start your DCA Bot, you can continue creating it from the DCA Bot section.

3Commas v1:
DCA Bot → Select RSI → Configure DCA settings → Start Bot

3Commas v2:
DCA Bot → Create Bot → Select RSI → Configure DCA settings → Start Bot

What changed?
Very little. Your indicator-based DCA Bot is still a DCA Bot — the creation flow has simply been updated.

DCA Bot triggered by TradingView

If your DCA Bot was started by a TradingView alert, you will now create it as a Signal Bot.

3Commas v1:
DCA Bot → TradingView Alert → Configure DCA settings → Start Bot

3Commas v2:
Signal Bot → Create Bot → TradingView Indicator → Configure DCA settings → Continue

What changed?
TradingView-triggered bots have moved from DCA Bot to Signal Bot. Use Signal Bot when you want TradingView signals to trigger your trades.

DCA Bot triggered through API

If you previously used Manually/API as your DCA Bot start condition, you will now create this automation under Signal Bot.

3Commas v1:
DCA Bot → Manually/API → Configure DCA settings → Start Bot

3Commas v2:
Signal Bot → Create Bot → API Request → Configure settings → Continue

What changed?
API-triggered bots are now managed through Signal Bot instead of DCA Bot.

Strategy Gallery → DCA Bot Presets

If you previously used Strategy Gallery to quickly create a bot from an existing strategy, look for Presets when creating a DCA Bot.

3Commas v1:
Strategy Gallery → Choose strategy → Copy → Create Bot

3Commas v2:
DCA Bot → Create Bot → Start from Preset

What changed?
Strategy Gallery is now integrated directly into the DCA Bot creation process as DCA Bot Presets.

Control Panel, Dashboard and My Portfolio

If you previously used Control Panel to see and manage all your DCA Bots, you can now do this directly from the DCA Bot tab.
3Commas v1:
Control Panel → View and manage DCA Bots

3Commas v2:
DCA Bot → View and manage DCA Bots

What changed?
DCA Bot management now has its own dedicated section instead of being part of the Control Panel.

Positions

The Positions tab is where you can view positions created by your Signal Bots.

What changed?
Signal Bot positions now have a dedicated place where you can monitor your active trades.

My Analytics

Use My Analytics when you want to review the performance and statistics of your trading activity.

Here you can analyze results for:

  • APIs

  • Signal Bots

  • DCA Bots

  • Grid Bots

Think of My Analytics as the main place to check how your bots and connected APIs are performing.

My Portfolio → My Exchanges

If you previously used My Portfolio to see your connected exchanges and assets, you will now use My Exchanges.

3Commas v1:
My Portfolio

3Commas v2:
My Exchanges

What changed?
The section has been reorganized and renamed, but it serves a similar purpose.

Dashboard

In 3Commas v1, Dashboard showed connected exchange information in one place.

In 3Commas v2, Dashboard is a combination of My Analytics and total portfolio value with additional statistics.

Signal Bot

Signal Bot is still available in New 3Commas, but the way you configure your signal source has changed.

The main rule to remember is:

  • TradingView Strategy → Use TradingView Strategy as your Signal Bot start condition

  • Custom Signals → Enable JSON and select the start condition that matches where your signal comes from

TradingView Strategies

If you previously used Signal Bot with a TradingView Strategy, you can continue using Signal Bot in New 3Commas.

3Commas v1:
Signal Bot → TradingView Strategy → Configure Bot

3Commas v2:
Signal Bot → Create Bot → TradingView Strategy → Configure Bot

What changed?
The functionality remains under Signal Bot. When creating your bot, simply select TradingView Strategy as the bot start condition.

Custom Signals

If you previously used Custom Signals to send alerts from different sources, the setup is slightly different in 3Commas v2.

Instead of selecting Custom Signals, enable JSON in your Signal Bot and choose the start condition that matches your signal source:

Your signal comes from...

Use in New 3Commas

TradingView Indicator

TradingView Indicator + JSON

Your own API/integration

API Request + JSON

Another supported signal source

Other + JSON

What changed?
Custom Signals are no longer treated as one separate signal type. In New 3Commas, you first select where the signal comes from and then enable JSON when you need to send custom signal data.

Smart Trade → Terminal

If you previously used Smart Trade to manually create and manage trades, you will now use Terminal.

3Commas v1:
Smart Trade → Create and manage trades

3Commas v2:
Terminal → Create and manage trades

What changed?

Terminal includes everything you could previously do with Smart Trade, while also introducing additional options for managing trades across multiple accounts, exchanges, and trading pairs.

In addition to the familiar Smart Trade functionality, Terminal now supports:

  • Multi-API — trade using multiple connected API accounts

  • Multi-Exchange — manage trades across multiple exchanges

  • Multi-Pair — work with multiple trading pairs

Subscription Migration

Your remaining 3Commas V1 subscription time will not be lost when moving to 3Commas V2.

To transfer your subscription, you will need to apply a promo code in 3Commas V2.

The promo code will give you:

  • The same number of subscription days remaining on your 3Commas V1 plan

  • Additional bonus subscription time

How does it work?

For example, if you have 60 days remaining on your 3Commas V1 subscription, your promo code will transfer those 60 days to 3Commas V2, plus the additional bonus period.

This means you can move to the new platform without losing the subscription time you have already paid for.
