Keccak-256

Keltner Channel
A volatility-based indicator that uses an EMA with bands derived from Average True Range (ATR). Often used to spot breakouts, trend strength, and mean-reversion setups.
Key Rotation
Replacing old API keys with new ones to reduce security risk (for example after a suspected leak). After rotating keys, you may need to reconnect or reauthorize the exchange in 3Commas.
Keylogger
A type of malicious software that records every keystroke typed on a keyboard. In crypto, keyloggers are often used to steal login credentials or private keys. Always use secure devices and two-factor authentication to reduce this risk.
Kernel
A general term for a smoothing method used in some indicators or strategies to reduce noise in price data. Most commonly encountered in custom TradingView scripts.
Keystore File
A file format used to store an encrypted private key (commonly for Ethereum wallets). If you lose the file or password, you may not be able to recover access.
Kill Switch
A safety concept in trading that stops trading activity or closes positions when specific conditions are met. Include details only if 3Commas has a specific feature by this name.
Kimchi Premium
A market anomaly where the price of cryptocurrencies on South Korean exchanges trades significantly higher than on global exchanges. Traders sometimes exploit this price gap for arbitrage opportunities, although capital controls and withdrawal limits often block such strategies.
Klinger Oscillator
A volume-based indicator used in technical analysis to detect long-term trends in money flow while remaining sensitive to short-term price reversals. Some 3Commas users incorporate it into custom TradingView signals or backtesting strategies.
K-line (Candlestick / Kline)
Candlestick chart data showing open, high, low, close over a selected interval. Many exchanges and TradingView refer to candlesticks as “klines.”
Know Your Customer (KYC)
A legal requirement for crypto exchanges and custodial services to verify user identities. At 3Commas, users from the European Economic Area (EEA) must pass KYC through J2TX to access key features, including subscription payments and trading with connected exchanges.
KYC Level
Some exchanges use multiple verification tiers that unlock higher limits or features. A user’s KYC level can affect limits and access to products like derivatives.
KuCoin
A cryptocurrency exchange that can be connected to 3Commas via API for supported trading features.
